Daily Science Report for 13 February 2009
LOCATION: Arrived at Site 807 (northern Ontong Java Plateau, world's largest igneous province)
SCIENCE UPDATE: The Readiness Assessment Committee members continued to familiarize themselves with the diverse new data reporting applications (particular systems that capture and retrieve descriptive data). The committee attended the traditional pre-spud meeting where the current operation plan was presented. During the day, USIO internal pre-acceptance activities and acceptance team meetings continued. The logging tools were prepared for moving forward to the rig floor. The logging team is standing by to start testing the new wireline heave compensator upon reentry of the drill string into Hole 807C.
