Complete South Atlantic Transect Reentry Installations
Daily Science Report for 5 June 2021
Location: In transit to Reykjavík, Iceland.
Science Update: The ship completed the final 67 nmi of the 5761 nmi transit to Reykjavík at an average speed of 8.9 kt. The first line was ashore at 0818 h, officially marking the end of Expedition 395E and the start of Expedition 395C. All lines were secure at 0841 h, and port call activities started. Offgoing freight was unloaded, and we started loading oncoming freight, including reentry system equipment.

Science Update: The ship transited 218 nmi at an average speed of 9.1 kt, completing 5694 nmi of the total 5761 nmi transit to Reykjavík. At midnight there were 67 nmi remaining.

Science Update: Today the ship transited 223 nmi at an average speed of 9.3 kt, completing 5476 nmi of the total 5761 nmi transit to Reykjavík. There are 285 nmi remaining, and the ship is expected to arrive at the pilot station at 0700 h on 5 June.
